Aug 25th 2019 - Evening/Night Dive Pix

Tina and I went for a few nice evening dives yesterday and decided the theme of the dives would be photography. Specifically, she said she needed some pictures of the zebra mussels for a project she's working on. It's a shame how bad the infestation is, but they do make for interesting subjects and backgrounds for existing fish. A lot of the fish were hiding, or weren't feeling overly social on our second dive, but we still had a great time being creative underwater.

I was also trying out something new, camera-wise. I was using a Kraken Smart Housing (Pro) with a Samsung Galaxy S10 phone in it. All of the pictures below were taken using the Galaxy S10 and my dive flashlight (also made by Kraken). I did a little bit of light touching up and cropped a few pictures, but by and large what you're seeing is what came out of the camera.

Underwater photography is something I've taken some classes on, but want to get better at. Taking pictures in Lake Travis is difficult due to the visibility, but with patience and persistence anything is possible.
