First Pictures from the K-1000

A little over a month ago, I picked up a camera I hadn't used in many years. I wrote about it in this post. It's a Pentax K-1000, and it was the first camera I'd ever shot with when I was first learning photography as a kid. I shot two rolls of Kodak Portra 400 film, and finally have the developed pictures.

Here are some of the highlights!

There's something really special about the look of film photography, which I really love. These were just some random pictures I shot, but I can't wait to explore more of what's possible with film.

I cropped a few of the images, and did a little minor touching up, but none of the edits took away from the character and "feel" of the images, which really don't compare to their digital counterparts.

I'll be posting more of my film pictures as I take them, but these days it's not as cheap to get a roll of film developed as it used to be. Film photography is certainly a true art form, and one I look forward to exploring.
